I've been getting a massive response from you all in the last couple weeks. It's really neat, because I'm used to kind of being quietly acknowledged and otherwise more or less ignored. So, um, thanks!
A lot of you have been asking me the same questions, and in the interests of saving time and effort (I am probably one of the singular laziest people alive), I'm going to answer the more common ones here, right now!
Q: "I can't find your older work from the Rounded Out website, can you please post it all here?"
A: It's possible... I'm really not a big fan of most of my older work, nor do I usually like to re-post older work, but I keep getting asked to post certain images. What I might do to pacify my older fans is to totally re-do some of my older photo manipulations, then post them as the new work they are. That way I can satasfy my artistic insecurities and get some of my "classics" back into circulation. Sound good?
Another possibility is that I might create a torrent file of my archives, so you could still get ahold of my old stuff without me having to upload a bazillion crappy morphs and flood the hell out of my deviantart account.
Stay tuned, either way! I'll post a link to the torrent here in my journal if/when I get it assembled, as well as somewhere on my homepage, most likely.
Q: Hey, you never morphed that pic I e-mailed you/posted on your yahoo group a million years ago! What's the deal???
A: There are a LOT of reasons for this one, so read the following scenarios, and choose the one that you think fits best:
1.) My health in recent years has been excruciatingly bad. We're talking nearly-dead, gibbering incoherently, and narrowly escaping the clutches of a straitjacket here... I started to get really bad about responding to every request a few years back, and eventually dissappeared from the community almost completely. Many, MANY requests were lost in the shuffle, and I apologize for my inability to properly communicate.
2.) Some of you who remember the Rounded Out site might remember why it went away... I started getting harassed by a couple of trolls, and between them and a misunderstanding with a community writer, action was taken by the site's host to eradicate the whole thing. It set me back quite a bit emotionally. I was just trying to share my joy of expansion art with people of like mind, and I got drawn and quartered for it.
...That said, some people who have requested morphs from me have been... somewhat less than polite. If you were rude in any way to me when you asked, chances are that I hit "delete" without even looking at what you wanted done. Threats do NOT go over well with me.
3.) I had a really nasty HD crash a few years back, and wasn't able to salvage everything. I lost a LOT of stuff, including at least a few requests I know of.
4.) As I mentioned before, I am pretty dang lazy. If you sent me a pic that wasn't really condusive to morphing, there's a fair chance that I let your e-mail sit at the bottom of my inbox for an eternity before eventually deleting it in a puff of apathy. On that note, here are some of the things I look for in potential <s>victims</s> uh, "cantidates:"
-I WILL NOT morph low-res or super-blurry pics. They never turn out well, and it's a waste of my time.
-I tend to like to work with more form-fitting clothing and fabrics, so if there's a lot of bulky clothing, I'll usually thumb my nose at a pic.
-I like my models to have heads and/or faces. There are a few notable exceptions (

, for example). In most cases, however, no face means no morph.
-Asking me to morph
"that actress" or
"that singer" without providing stock pics or good links aren't usually going to get you very far. I am vastly cultured (feel the massive ego? Whee!), but absolutely hopeless when it comes to modern American pop sensationalism. I don't know the names of ANY "American Idol" participants, I ignore teen pop stars like smears of bubblegum on the sidewalk, and about the closest I get to watching television on a regular basis is my chronic addiction to "Heroes."
-Poses are crucial for a good morph. If a pic you submit doesn't have at least a decent morph-able pose, I won't usually spend the effort that it takes to pull something nice out of it. The more a pic says "please inflate me!," the more eager I am to give it a shot.
-If a pic is really dark or overexposed, I'm not likely to give it much of a chance. Again, it just isn't worth the effort, most times.
Q: "Where the heck have you been hiding?"
A: As I mentioned, I had some rather nasty health issues, but I've also been working and going to school off and on. I've been around, but mostly lurking and watching from the sidelines rather than actively participating.
Q: "Wanna chat/IM/cyber/Role play?"
A: No. Ye gods, no. I am AWFUL at role-play chats. Trust me on this, it's more for your safety than my own. As for random chatters, I don't EVER give out my private IM account IDs to anyone I haven't already had some form of pleasant communication with before. I've had stalkers, trolls, and irritating fans; I don't need any more, thank you.
Q: "What do you use to do your morphs?"
A: Photoshop 6 and vast amounts of rum.
Q: "Why don't you ever update your Yahoo Group?"
A: Because it's deader than roadkill on a hot summer day. If you'd like to go poke it with a pointy stick, be my guest! Yahoo groups are pretty much dead to me in general these days...
Those are all that I can think of off the top of my head. If you have any that I missed, simply ask!

#ExpansionChat!
I might have to break down and find a copy of CS or something one of these days, if only to have an army of filters to play with!

I meant to say
Filter>Stylize>Diffuse>Anisotropic...
Sorry I didn't make that clearer. It's been in Photoshop since 7.0 I think.

Ever try using the Texture-Anisotropic filter on light surfaces?

Drawing is a curse; every time you draw something it just comes back and smacks you upside the head saying, "you can do better!"

No one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures
and instructions for dancing~
Thing is, back when I started, I was stumbling around photoshop with absolutely NO idea what I was doing, and now I have a lot of training under my hat and use it professionally (as in "I actually make money for playing with PS all day").
Thanks for the vote of confidance, though, you're one of the members of the community that I have respected most for a very, very long time. (Damn near a decade...)
But to be honest here, you have people like HellResident and Kraban to thank for me becoming active again. The scene was stagnating massively, in my opinion, and those two (among a few others) came in and spiced it up again.
Also, blame people like AirTankGirl. She's got a new piece from me in her gallery that I'm really quite proud of, and the more we work together, the more we enjoy it, so chances are that you'll see more there in the future as well.
Ah, well, I'm ranting again. I'll shut up and post some new material soon.
